IAF and Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) Conclude Joint Training in
Israel

This week, the Israel Air Force and the Italian Air Force held a joint
training in Israel. For the first time, the Italian Air Force deployed its
"Panavia Tornado" aircraft to the Ovda IAF base, and held training flights
with the "Flying Dragon" IAF Squadron.

The "Flying Dragon" Squadron performs advanced training for the IAF,
specializing in training aerial forces by simulating a "red" (enemy) force.

The combined training exercise in Israel follows a combined training
exercise held two weeks ago in Sardinia, in which IAF combat squadrons and
transport squadrons participated.

The training included flights in various desert terrain unfamiliar to the
pilots of the Aeronautica Militare.

The exercise was conducted according to a pre-planned yearly training
schedule, and it is part of a series of combined exercises between the
different IDF forces and other militaries from around the world.
